Step-by-Step Guide to Ordering
If you are new to our site and would like to order some research, you may find the following Guide useful. We recommend that you become a member of Ukfamilyrecords to benefit from our Order Status service and to qualify for discounts, however membership is entirely voluntary and you may purchase research without an account.
If you wish to join before ordering please see the section below called Step-by-Step Guide to Becoming a Member.

Ordering - Login
If you are already a member or have just joined enter your e-mail address and chosen password in the two boxes on the grey bar on the entry page and press Go (alternatively click on Members by the Ukfamilyrecords logo to login).

Choosing Research
Choose the item you wish to order and enter the information about the individual you want researched in the boxes provided, e.g. if you want a birth certificate, go to the birth certificate page and enter the details of the person you want a certificate for. Do not forget to read the information fully that we have provided on the product page and to remember to check the information you have provided to make sure it is correct.

Adding to Cart
Once you have checked the information and you are sure you want to proceed, click on the 'Add to Cart' button - your item will now appear in your shopping cart. If you want to order another item, click on 'Continue Shopping'.

Checkout
1. When you have finished adding items to your cart, either click on 'Checkout' or click on 'Shopping Cart' at the top of the page and then click on Checkout.
2. Once you have clicked on 'Checkout' you will be sent to the 'Delivery Information' page. Here you can change your delivery address if you want an item sent elsewhere; if you do not want to change the address click on 'Continue'.
3. On the 'Payment Information' page choose your preferred Payment Method, you have a choice of Cheque or Credit Card (Paypal), click on one of the buttons to the right of these options. If you have a Discount Voucher or Coupon you must Redeem it on the 'Payment Information' page (see below on How to Redeem Your Voucher).
4. Click on 'Continue'.

Order Confirmation
The Order Confirmation page allows you to make any amendments to your order should you want to make changes. If everything is okay, proceed to the bottom of the page (your browser may not show the whole screen), read our Terms and Conditions and and check the box to agree to them. Then click on 'Confirm Order'.

Almost there...Paying by Credit Card
Once you have clicked on 'Confirm Order' you will be redirected to PayPal and our secure payment server.
If you are already a member of PayPal simply login to pay.
If you are not a member of PayPal click on the Continue button besides 'Don't have a PayPal account?'. Here you can enter your Credit Card details and complete your order.

Confirmation E-mail
Once you have completed your order you will receive a confirmation e-mail from us. If you do not receive an e-mail within 24 hours of making your order please contact us.

To remove an item from your shopping cart
Click on the Shopping Cart link at the top if the page if you are not already on the Shopping Cart page.
Click on the box to the left of the item you wish to remove so that it is 'checked'.
Click on the 'Update' button beneath your item(s) and the item(s) will be removed from the cart.


Step-by-Step Guide to Becoming a Member
1. Click on the 'Members' link at the top of the page.
2. Enter your personal details in the boxes provided, please capitalise all appropriate words, nouns etc. as we have to manually amend every single entry if you submit your details in lower case.
3. Enter your first name and then your last name.
4. Enter a valid e-mail address. Make sure it is correct!!!
5. If you are not part of company, please leave the 'Company' box blank.
6. Enter your full address and telephone number in the boxes provided. Leave the 'Fax' box blank if you do not have one.
7. Choose an appropriate password.
8. Enter the Security Code as it is shown.
9. Click on Continue.


You have now joined UKfamilyrecords! Please feel free to explore the site and make full use of our services.

 


How to Redeem Your Voucher
When you join you will receive an Introductory Gift Voucher to use with your first order.
To use the voucher with an order, follow the Step-by-Step Guide to Ordering process above until you get to the 'Checkout' stage Point 3 - the 'Payment Information' page.
On the 'Payment Information' page enter the voucher code into the voucher box and click on 'Redeem Code Voucher'.
If you want to use the voucher amount with this order, click on the box "Tick to use Gift Voucher account balance -> " and then press continue and the voucher amount will be deducted from the Order Total.

You can of course save your voucher amount for another order. To do this enter the voucher code into the voucher box and click on 'Redeem Code Voucher' as above, but do not click on the box "Tick to use Gift Voucher account balance -> ", press 'Continue' with the current order instead. Your voucher balance will still be available to use at a later date.

Placing an Order
You can place an order to us by using the shopping cart or in writing. Payment must be included with order. If you want to write to us with an order we can only accept payments by Cheque at present.
Accepting your Order
We will accept your order only after we have evaluated the information and deemed research possible; a contract of sale will be made between us and you the customer once the evaluation process has been complete and you will receive an E-mail with the Order Status as "In process".
Confirming your order
Customers purchasing our Complete Family Trees service will receive a Confirmation Copy of their Application after the evaluation process has been completed; a contract of sale will begin once the customer's payment has been cleared. Payments will not be sent for clearance until the evaluation process has been completed and the Application is successful. Customers are not obliged to proceed with purchasing the Complete Family Tree if they've made an Application and have received the Confirmation Copy.
Contract of Sale
Our contract with you will be completed once you have received a/your documents and report, b/your report or c/your refund or part refund because a search cannot be made or no result has been found. See Terms and Conditions for details regarding when you are entitled to a refund.

Refusing your Order

We may refuse to accept and dispatch an order:

  • If you are under 18 years of age;
  • Our products cease, are not available or have changed;
  • We have not received your payment or cannot get authorisation for your payment;
  • If for some reason we do not deem you eligible because of geographic location or other criteria.

Amending your order:

  • Whilst you are using the shopping cart, you can amend your order any at any time before you click on the ‘Proceed to Checkout' button.
  • Once you have clicked on the ‘Proceed to Checkout' do not click on the Back button, this may invalidate your order or it may not be processed properly.
  • If you have already clicked on the ‘Proceed to Checkout' button, but wish to change something click on back, remove all items from shopping cart and start again.

Amending your order once you have submitted your payment:

  • If you have ordered a Complete Family Tree, you can amend your order once you have received your Confirmation Copy. You cannot amend your order once you have returned your Confirmation Copy to us and a payment has been made.

  • If you have ordered any other service e.g. certificates, wills, army records, you must amend your order within 24 hours of making a payment. We cannot accept amendments after this time.
