We are currently recruiting researchers to act as agents on a part-time basis from all over the United Kingdom and Ireland. Applicants need to be aware that job opportunities are occasional and they will require another source of income. However family tree research can prove to be a useful additional income for individuals who have spare hours during the week or at the weekend.

The family tree research industry has very few actual job placements for those looking to work in genealogy as a career; we at ukfamilyrecords are one of the few companies actively recruiting presently. Though very few places actually remain, there are some regions of the UK and Ireland still not represented and we would like to hear from all interested parties.

Work Experience
It is essential that applicants have a degree of family tree/history research experience; those with only basic experience will need to show a willingness to learn. Whilst it is not necessary to have completed projects for customers, a customer service background is desireable along with excellent report-writing skills.

Long term prospects           
Any agent that works for us and who proves themselves to be diligent, precise and timely may have the opportunity to eventually be considered for a full time position. We also actively encourage our agents to get involved in the day-to-day running of the business and hope that their involvement will lead to a successful partnership.

We hope that in bringing together a network of agents, we can create a community of individuals who are not only business minded, but who wish to deliver a high standard of research to the public.
It is hoped that once the framework is in place that regular meetings can be arranged throughout the country so that agents can get together, meet and discuss their research. Any applicant that applies for a position will be expected to attend at least one meeting per year.
