5. BMD Certificate Price Increase
From the 6th April 2010 the government will be increasing the cost of certificates by 32%; we will be adjusting our prices accordingly with a similar increase.
 

4. PCS Strike
Please note that the current strike by local government workers is affecting the turnaround times of all Probate search and production.

 3. Order delays
We are currently experiencing delays of up to four working days on the supply and completion of all orders due to delays at central government departments responsible for producing documents and because of the current postal strike. If you have not received your order, you will receive it or receive notification that it has been dispatched within four working days after the published delivery dates.
Customers orders will be dealt with in order of receipt, i.e. those waiting the longest will be satisfied soonest. We are grateful for your patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The General Register Office has experienced some difficulty coping with the demand for birth, marriage and death certificates during the early part of 2008. We found that the orders we made to them during the months of February, March, April and May would either arrive very late or not arrive at all. They have had to cope with a new computer system, the closure of the Family Records Centre in London and their incorporation into the Passport Services department.

Presently, certificates are still taking 2-3 days longer than their published date and some are even taking as much as 15 days to arrive from order date.

As a consequence of this we have been forced to alter our delivery dates to 8-14 days for the Standard Service, however the Fast Service is unaffected as the GRO is still striving to meet deadlines for Priority Orders.
